In this work, we report a low-temperature ionic liquid method to synthesize nanostructured Li-rich fluoride solid electrolyte Li3 GaF 6, which is characterized by open-framework structured grains and ionic liquid decorated grain boundaries.

This review systematically discusses the advances in these fluorinated electrode materials. First, comprehensive insights into fluorinated electrode materials are emphasized regarding the basic fluorine chemistry, reaction mechanisms, structure properties, and synthesis strategies.

In this work, we design a family of non-PFAS, partially fluorinated ether solvents for LIB electrolytes. Through rational molecular design, an optimized rate capability is achieved by low viscosity, weak lithium-ion solvation, and high ion diffusivity.

Finally, the existing challenges and further efforts on fluorinated solvents are summarized. The combination of advanced synthesis and characterization approaches with the assistance of machine learning will enable the design of new fluorinated solvents for advanced lithium-based batteries.
